Beginner’s Guide To Mindfulness Meditation
Introduction
The practice of meditation started thousands of years ago, and continues to be relevant today. I was first introduced to meditation a few years back when I was in Junior College. As a tennis player, I was in a sports training exercise that was designed to improve sports performance with meditation. The instructor taught us how to focus on our body and relax. By the end of the session, everyone was so relaxed and rejuvenated!
There are many different kinds of meditation, and we will be focusing on Mindfulness Meditation. In other words, we practice mindfulness with meditation. This is a beginner’s guide to mindfulness meditation.
Mindfulness
Mindfulness is to be fully present, being aware and observing ourselves from within. Everyone can learn to be mindful, and it takes practice to get better at it. Whenever you are aware of what you’re presently experiencing with all the senses in your body, you’re being mindful!
Benefits Of Mindfulness Meditation
There are various benefits to mindfulness meditation:
The brain ages slower than people who do not meditate. Similar to physical exercise, meditation keeps the brain active and healthy.
